Face To Face With BLESS MCFLY

 Esco:  Waddup My G

Bless:  coolin bro.. whats good with you

Esco:  same shit.... u know, the grind!!!

Bless:  fasho! So what questions you got for me? Im ready! lol

Esco:  let's get an idea of who Bless McFly is....
   Where are you from?

Bless:  Bless McFly originally from Newark, NJ.. spent time in SC & the A (Atlanta) also, gotta show them luv

Esco:  so when did the rapping begin?

Bless:  I've always been intrigued with rapping & hip hop music since I could remember. My parents will tell you I used to freestyle and make up my own raps at the age of 5...funny shit, I was allowed to curse only when I rapped tho.. lol

Esco:  lol, cool parents I see... who were some influences?

Bless:  Yeah man, fasho.. I get a lot of my style and confidence from my parents
My influences were Nas, Pac, Ghostface, Rakim, Treach.. just to name a few
My style is just something I was born with man.. like I said, a lot of it comes from my parents  and      grandparents.. I was lucky to have a family of fly folks

Esco:  lmao, I feel you... I always tell ppl coolness is a gene, your born with it!!!
I met you through Photo, who I went to hs with, ya'll are in Secret Society together...
Tell me what that is and some other situations you may have been in?

Bless:  Photo is my dude, my brother. Met him back in like 2003 and we been rockin together ever  since. Secret Society is the team/brand/company that was started by myself, Photo, his younger brother Tax G, and Nimi Hendirx. We've been working hard putting out quality projects and music videos.. We'll be venturing off into film & tv soon as well.. Best way to put it is SS is a working machine thats moving its way into mainstream entertainment
Shout to other SS artists and members as well.. Roubboy, Brazy, Whiiteboi, Rob
Everybody is bringing something to the table

Esco:  Nice!!! nothing like a strong team.... who have you worked with outside of SS?

Bless:  Pretty much everybody in Jersey thats been on the grind for a while.. Collab'd with a few out of town artists and a couple overseas artists as well. It's the come up game so I gotta stay working

Esco:  Definitely.... who would you like to collab with... artists, producers or writers?

Bless:  I hate these kinds of questions man.. lol. Only b/c its hard to narrow the names down..but off the top of my head I'd say Nas, Kanye..
It's more but I can't even think of them right now..

  Esco:  Ok,  I totally understand!!!

Bless:  I'm too inspired by the music nowadays so it's hard to grab the names

Esco:  I'm a manager and as you can see I'm trying new things.... other than music and film, what would you like to try your hand at?

Bless:  First thing I'd like to do is start an organization or community group focused on the youth and less fortunate. Thats something thats very important to me man..
It's a duty once you reach a certain level of wealth and fame
..and of course fashion
thats a given #MCFLYIZM lol

Esco:  we talked about that about a year ago but I got side tracked.... that takes more work than I even imagined.... it needs to be done, we're def gonna link on that tho

Bless:  Oh yeah fasho. I'm big on that

Esco:  Who do you think is killing it right now indy and mainstream?

Bless:  MMG got it under control heavy right now.. Ross, Wale, Meek Mill.. they crushin it
I like GoodMusic too. They got alot of talent over there

Esco:  If u could give one mainstream artist the boot to take his spot, who would it be?

Bless:  Hahaha.. thats an original question. Never heard that one
Uhhh

Esco:  keep it real bruh, alotta guys r stinkn it up

Bless:  I wouldnt boot anybody man honestly. I think everybody that has a spot is supposed to be there..regardless of how good or bad their music is..everybody will have their day..just gotta work hard and smart
thats the most honest answer I could give

Esco:  lol ok, you put out As I Should in 2011, who did you work with on there and where can fans find it?

Bless:  Yeah AS i SHOULD is an album I dropped in late 2011.. it featured my SS fam Photo & Tax G.. two phenomenal R&B singers by the names of Suzy Q and Daisy Grant.. my homeboy Talib did some background vocals on there.. and my man Kofi did a spoken word poem on there as well.
Its an all around dope album.. it has crazy production on there from Feva (Vado,Lil Wayne,Jim Jones) and HigherThanMan

Esco:  Suzy Q is from JC...amazing vocalist!!!

Bless:  It's available for free download on www.BLESSMCFLY.com.. it's on www.datpiff.com, www.soundcloud.com and a few other sites.. just google it and I'm sure it'll pop up other spots
Yeah fasho, Suzy Q is my homegirl and definitely a super super talented vocalist

Esco:  I kno Pho did a mixtape with all No Joke.... is there a reason he didn't make the cut?

Bless:  there's no specific reason why I didn't use his production for the project. I chose to let Feva & HigherThanMan produce the entire project b/c their sounds matched my style and gave me what I was looking for
NoJoke has some crazy dope production though

Esco: What's in store for you in 2012? How can you be reached for features/shows/press?

Bless:  Giving the album (AS i SHOULD) the required push it deserves.. with real live vids to bring everything to life.. my dude Nimi Hendrix is shooting all the vids.. I'll be putting more focus into my website (www.BLESSMCFLY.com).. Already planning out the next project for the spring/summer.. Just staying busy and working to get where I belong

Bless:  For all booking and inquiries you can reach out to WOLE@JOHNSONCLINTON.COM or MCFLYHIGHPUB@GMAIL.COM

Esco:  the website thing is very important.... alot of artists don't realize that online presence may be more important than even shows

Esco:  I've been at labels where I've seen the guys that job is to look to the blog sites for the next big thing!!!

Bless:  Word. I took my time with the site and made sure it was user friendly and included all info relative to Bless McFly. Big shout to my website/graphic team NottyDesigns.
Tell them www.BLESSMCFLY.com is where it's at!
